PROJECT :: HEXENWORLD 1.0 QPORT version
Start Date :: About May 18th 2002
Goal :: To fix Hexenworld 0.15 server/client to include any new and updated
network code to allow for user via certain highspeed connections (overcome nat
and packet fragementation problems). ie, stop large packets being sent and thus
fragmenting at clientside.
Members :: This project is being done independently by 2 programmers,
Dark
Ravager and MaGgot. Hopefully one of us will succeed.

- Ok well if anyone feels like taking over this project email me (put a subject
of HEXENWORLD so I dont miss it) and I'll give you all the details have. Without
help with some stuff from raven I would not be able to do this without getting
trampled by sheep.

- Still no news. Darn. Sorry. Basically if you have problem get a new firewall
;). One that doesn't block big udp packets that are fragmented. doh.

- Ho Humm Well I havn't been able to to much since last update. I was able to
get the client/server connecting with a new packet size but I guess I need to
fix up some other junk in the processing or something. I'm stuck with a "bad
user command:" in sv_main. Still waiting for a reply for RickJ (grr). New
Help may be on the way soon for this project if I'm lucky. --- DarkRavager

galons of water but hey... And in honor of him taking the time to reply... A

- Ok ..again... I have renewed enthusiasm after a day of not much work. I thought
it over and I think I'm on to stuff. I'm working backwards from MAX_MSGLEN.
If I ever get a lower packetsize working ill then fix the rest The logice must
be there!

- FRIG! Well I had things partly good at one point last night.By that I mean
it compiled and actually client/server connected on my PC.. (I think I had the
Qport code moved in mostly and possible some challenge code). In any case that
still didnt help for my adsl/router so I started playing with the MAX_UDP_PACKET
[net_wins.c] and parts related to MAX_MSGLEN and MAX_DATAGRAM [bothdefs.h] and
..o well.... 5 compiles later im stuck on "CL_ParseServerMessage: Bad server
message" [cl_parse.c]. I may have to start over....grr If those dam sheep
would have just fixed this when everyone was still alive this would have been
easier! --- DarkRavager

- Ok so I just made this page for this project Humm. Maybe I should do a sourceforge
thing. Nah. I'm confident that one day this will be fixed up. I recently got
an email from someone who is a great programmer and will try to help out a bit
later on (june 15+) . I'll do what I can untill then. --- DarkRavager
